Since establishing the High School Scholarship Program, the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation has awarded over $320,000 to high school seniors. The program was designed to promote academic achievement, support community involvement and enhance community awareness to students in both Alabama and Florida. Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 are awarded to graduating seniors from schools selected by credit union chapters. The scholarship funds can be applied toward tuition, room and board, or books at any Alabama or Florida four-year University or Community College.

In addition to being a credit union member, requirements include that the applicant be knowledgeable with the credit union philosophy of “people helping people,” and understand the importance of financial literacy.
